in /usr/X11R6/bin edit startxwin.bat

change the line

start xwin :0

to

xwin -screen 8 17024x768x16 -whitepixel 255 -blackpixel 0

^^^ no "start" before XWIN
move the lines

start vtwm
and

start xterm before xwin -screen ... line, that is xwin... should be last
line in startxwin.bat file.

execute startxwin.bat again from a DOS shell.

After X-server crash you should have crash message printed in DOSK shell.
Cut-paste and post
the crash message.
