Harold,
When I got your message I left the office already. I connected there
remotely and I checked that indeed all the files in the /usr/X11R6/bin
have their x bit set except the xf_dx.dll coming out of your tar ball.
So tommorow I will change that and try again. I think you should have
your tarball built in such a way that that bit is already set.
