I had the
same problem you are having, if you are referring to installing Cygwin before
you can install Cygwin/XFree. ÃÂ The
problem is that you are probably trying to save the downloaded files to a
network drive that doesnâÂÂt have 100% correct permissions set on it. àFor example, I was trying to download
the packages to my Samba share, and I kept getting the error about setup not
being able to open âÂÂash-20000823.tar.gz.tmpâÂÂ. àDownloading the packages to my local drive worked fine. àLet me know the details of your failed
downloads, even if you get it working, because I would like to know more about
why setup fails.
