Actually, it was the Readme that messed me up. . .

There is a readme in the xfree ftp root, such as
ftp://ftp.sunsite.utk.edu/pub/cygwin/xfree/ , that contains a README file,
which makes the following claims,

1) In listing the files to download from xc-4-binaries, the README claims
that there is a file named xfree86-bin.tar.bz2, however, there is no such
file, and it is rather confusing as to whether we are supposed to download
xfree86-Prog.tar.bz2 or xfree86-Xwin.tar.bz2, as both of them sound like
they contain the main executables for Cygwin/XFree.
2) The README claims, "All of the above binaries support only Cygwin v 1.0
and Development Snapshots.", however, you have indicated that Cygwin 1.1.4
works just fine.
3) There is no mention of the /contrib directory containing the DirectX
X/Server, as other documentation seems to indicate.

Hell, just getting rid of the README would prevent confusing some people :)
