Cannot start X server

I am using Windows 98SE. Here are the options for "start" on Win98SE:

/m[inimized] Run the new program minimized (in the background).
/max[imized] Run the new program maximized (in the foreground).
/r[estored]  Run the new program restored (in the foreground). [default]
/w[ait]      Does not return until the other program exits.


Which one of these corresponds to /B?

What does vtwm do that twm does not do?

Can you tell me approximately when the posting from Harold about the test
case would have been made? that might help me sort through the mail
archives.

Also, can you tell me why .xinitrc does not appear to get run when the
xserver is started up?
