Graham,
    please keep replies cc'd to the list. I will not answer direct responses on this list. (I am the FAQ maintainer, not one of the
coders!)

You need to uninstall ALL OF CYGWIN B20. Its NOT supported anymore by cygnus or Redhat, and the cygwin net release is not supported
in combination with earlier cygwin versions.
