cvs and proxy

I got it to check out just a directory....Just make sure that you check out
into an EMPTY directory, and not an xc tarball tree.  For example, I had an
xc directory from the tarball distro.  Here's what I did:

$ mv xc xc-4.0.2
$ cvs z7 -d :pserver:anoncvs@anoncvs.xfree86.org:/cvs co
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xwin
anoncvs
...
$ cp -Rf xc xc-4.0.2

and then make World in xc-4.0.2.
