Cannot start X server

Could you post your OS please?

To all users, please always include which OS (including Service Packs)
you are using.

start /B is an option on my Windwos NT 4 and Win2K.

vtwm is in "contrib" directory.

true xdm only root can work at the moment. I plan on fixing gid and uid
issues
with xdm.

In case you are using Win9x/Me then it won't work on it. In that case you
need to try Harold "test case" from "test" directory. Please dig mail
archive
on how he and users got it working. Other alternative is to use
X-server-1.0 from
contrib directory and install it in c:\usr not c:\cygwin\usr.
