Paul,

I'll deal with your final error, as that is related to my code.

Your error can be summed up in one line:
winInitVisuals () - comp 00000003 rm 00000000 gm 00000000 bm 00000000

This indicates that my code that detects the bitfield masks is not working
correctly.  As soon as you reported this error I realized what I had done
wrong... I should have a fixed version posted in a few minutes.
