lesstif does not work in cygwin?????

Hello:
Coud someone pl help me? I am in big trouble! I have been trying to install 
lesstif in cygwin/win98. I will be really very much happy, if you help me 
out a little bit.

I tried to install it like other packages in cygwin/win98, as

bunzip2 lesstif-0.92.98.tar.bz2
tar xvf lesstif-0.92.98.tar

Then I tried

./configure
make
make install

But ./configure did not work in cygwin/XFree86!!! So what happened here? 
Could you pl help me out? I don't need to do ./configure, make and make 
install????
