Untarring startup-scripts.tgz

How are you downloading?  Netscape?  It is being corrupted during download.
I know several users have downloaded and the archive is not corrupted.

Downloading the July 2 dated version of the above (from various of the
different mirror sites- all seem to be dated the same)
doesn't seem to produce a readable file.  I instead get:

tar: 146 garbage bytes ignored at end of archive
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Anyone out there have a suggestion?
