Harold Can you keep #define BuildXF86MiscExt to NO in cygwin.cf? The XFfree86-MISC does not compile anyway. You ca do a xdpyinfo and you will not see it. Turning #define BuildXF86MiscExt to YES in Cygwin.cf compiles a couple of Xlcinets (e.g. xgc) which looks for XFree86-MISC Extension and fail to start. Suhaib
