xmodmap stopped working after xfree upgrade

I'm at home now so can't get my .xinitrc file for you at the moment, but I'm 
pretty sure it just said something like 'xmodmap /etc/x11/xmodmap.uk &' or 
'exec xmodmap /etc/x11/xmodmap.uk &'
