DDD 3.3.8 (i686-pc-cygwin) gets `Segmentation fault WAS Re: c ompiling DDD

bash ./configure --disable-static

Only got me halfway - if old_archive_from_expsyms_cmds has a value, it will
override the 
"build_old_libs=no" option in libtool.  Strange.
