doesn't honour the -iconic in -windowmode

XFree86 running in -windowmode doesn't honour requests to run an application 
starting in the minimized state.  For example:
     xterm -iconic

The xterm still appears full screen.  You can minimize it manually.  I think 
this is a problem inside the code for the -windowmode inbuilt window manager 
of XFree.  Any ideas?
