ddxLoad patch?

Alexander,

I want to get the following patch that you made to xoncygwin HEAD taken 
care of:

I want to commit your change to the XFree86 CVS tree, but I don't know 
if your change is compatible with all platforms.  If it is compatible 
with all platforms, could you give me the justification that I should 
use when I file the bug report?

If we don't know that this is compatible with all platforms, should we 
#ifdef __CYGWIN__ it?
