Shouldn't we put [cygwin] or [CygXwin] here depending on the question?

Right.

Thinking about this from the context of the age of the project, you'd
come to the conclusion that this particular issue has come up many
times.  Searching the archives, you'd see that the answer is always the
same -- sort your email using the headers provided.

If this seems unbelievably mean then you have an alternative -- don't use
the free service that we (that is again the royal we) have provided.
