SHM extension fails to start

Hi,

When XWin starts, I see the following error message in the XWin log file:

MIT-SHM extension disabled due to lack of kernel support

However, the ipc-deamon2 deamon has been installed:

According to the Cygwin/X  users guide: this should be supported if ipc-daemon2 is running.
Attached are also the results of xdpyinfo
Am I missing something? Will the SHM extension improve performance of the X server?
