XDMCP Problems - Possible fix, please try

Yes but there appears to be some intertwining on SuSE at least.

Actually:

sonslinux:/home/defaria # ll /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm

/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm -> ../../../../etc/X11/xdm

And DisplayManager.requestPort had been commented out a long time ago 
(and xdm/kdm definitely has been restarted since commenting this out).
