I think you will need to work with Kensuke to figure this out.  He is 
the man for non-English clipboard support :)

One test that might be useful is to remove the -clipboard command-line 
parameter and run the stand-alone xwinclip instead.  If xwinclip has the 
same problem, then this is not a regression and the new clipboard code 
will be marked as stable without it being fixed.  If it is a regression, 
then I will probably hold the new release until it is fixed.
