XWin listens on too many TCP ports and killing existing connections.

I have had problems which may be coming from the same cause. By me,
when programs are running in X11 (just a local server, no forwarding),
Gaim (win32) randomly disconnects from the IM servers. I have
auto-reconnect enabled, but this can repeat itself numerous times in a
session. However, this isn't constant, and sometimes if I run a program
in X11 briefly I can make it through.

I thought that the cause was just the speed of my computer--I have an
OLD Intel Celeron and only 128MB RAM--but now that this has been raised
I wonder if it's related.

FWIW, I also run ZoneAlarm, but no Cygwin programs are blocked.

It would be really nice to solve this. Thanks!

Yaakov

| Have you tried without ZoneAlarm? The bugs you describe are
