How to turn off text antialias ?

To bad.
XFT font antialiasing should be completly disabled creating a file named .fonts.conf in your remote home directory with following entry:

<match target="font">
   <edit name="antialias" mode="assign">
      <bool>false</bool>
   </edit>
</match>
