The FD.o menu entry also launches without -ls, so that is clearly the 
default behaviour.  Now that we don't need to in order to pick up the 
user's environment, we decided that we don't need to deviate.

system.XWinrc is meant to be an example and a sane default; the 
intention is that users will copy this to $HOME/.XWinrc and customize it 
(and/or their .Xdefaults) as they wish.
