problem solved on
$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.1 ITQMOZCAS2NB007 1.7.8s(0.231/5/3) 20101002 17:15:53 i686 Cygwin
$ XWin.exe --version
Release: 1.9.0.0 (10900000)
