Indeed.. I have verified that G_SLICE_ALWAYS_MALLOC is 1 in config.h so 
that in emacs.c

   xputenv ("G_SLICE=always-malloc");
#endif

defines rightly G_SLICE...

Probably, the problem is elsewhere...
