Cygwin/X : display error with latest x-related packages

seeing similar behavior here after upgrading to:
$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-6.1-WOW xxx 1.7.35(0.287/5/3) 2015-03-04 12:07 i686 Cygwin

It seems that the server is not opening the tcp/6000 port for remote 
connections.
