After starting the XWin server, from the cygwin dos window,
by running xinit, XWin emits the following messages:
winDetectSupportedEngines () - Windows NT/2000
winDetectSupportedEngines () - DirectDraw installed
winDetectSupportedEngines () - Allowing PrimaryDD
winDetectSupportedEngines () - DirectDraw4 installed
winDetectSupportedEngines () - Returning, supported engines 0000001f
winSetEngine () - Using Shadow DirectDraw NonLocking
winAdjustVideoModeShadowDDNL () - Using Windows display depth of 32 bits

winCreateDefColormap () - Deferring to fbCreateDefColormap ()
The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
> Error: Can't find file "unknown" for geometry include
> Exiting
> Abandoning geometry file "(null)"
Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server
After a while (about 10 - 20 minutes), XWin starts to continuously
and rapidly emit this error message out on the dos cygwin window
where xinit was invoked:
winShadowUpdateDDNL () - IDirectDrawSurface4_Blt () failed: 887601c2
Cheers,
Joe
