cygwin-xfree with cygwin 1.3.10

I just installed cygwin 1.3.10 and I find that Xfree86 does not work as it used to (with cygwin 1.3.9)
I attempted to start xfree with the standard script "startxwin.sh".  It seems to execute
      XWin -screen 0 1024 768 &
      twm &

When it tries 
      xsetroot -solid aquamarine4      (or any other color)
it stays there indefinitely.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Please find XWin.log file attached.  Thanks.
