opendx on cygwin

I saw a discussion, about this earlier. It appeared the problem I am coming
across did not occur.

After I install the opendx binaries, the program will start fine. However if
I try to import files I get an error that says :

    _dxl_ReadPortNumber: Bad file descriptor
    timeout waiting for response from dx
    Internal error detected at MacroDefinition.C":631

Would appreciate any help on this.
