Resizing and closing terminal windows in Cygwin X

Hello,

Please can you help?

When using cygwinX I can resize the console windows etc. to make them 
bigger, but not to make them smaller. I also cannot work out how to 
close any of the console windows. Would you be able to to tell me how to 
do this?
